RTU FEEM Assistant Professor Receives a Certificate of Merit from the World Customs Organization

Normunds Rudzītis, Assistant Professor of the International Business and Customs Institute of Riga Technical University (RTU) received the World Customs Organization Certificate on the International Customs Day, January 26, which was celebrated under the slogan: «Nurturing the Next Generation: Promoting a Culture of Knowledge-sharing and Professional Pride in Customs».

The award recognizes the significant contribution of N.Rudzitis to the development and strengthening of customs education in Latvia and internationally, as well as his active participation in the implementation of various international projects related to the development of customs education and border security in the world.

Several faculty members of the RTU International Business and Customs Institute have previously received WCO Certificates of Merit, demonstrating the high quality and international competitiveness of the RTU customs education.

RTU is the only educational institution in Latvia that delivers internationally recognized Professional Bachelor`s and Master`s programmes «Administration of Customs and Taxes». The programmes were developed in cooperation with the World Customs Organization and the State Revenue Service of Latvia.

The programmes have received the WCO Recognition as a state-of-the-art customs study programmes and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union recognition as high-quality Customs related programmes that are in line with the EU Competency Framework for the Customs profession.
