RTU Grand Drive-In Graduation will take place on July the 24th Spilve Airport.
Arrival to the event will be from 19.00 to 21.00. During this period, graduates will receive their diplomas in drive-in tents of their faculty. During the diploma awarding ceremony, a DJ and a popular music performer in Latvia will create a positive atmosphere.
The official ceremony of the graduation will start at 21.00 with a cavalcade of RTU delegation. In the official part of the graduation, the Rector Leonīds Ribickis, state officials and industry leaders, will welcome RTU graduates. There will also be musical performances. The official part will be closed with the moment of culmination - a salute of graduate hats.
In order for RTU graduates to be able to participate in graduation ceremony and to ensure that all regulations are observed, graduates will have to register for this event from June 19th. Registration will be closed the day before graduation on July 23rd at 23.59.
Only this year’s RTU graduates are invited to attend the Grand Graduation to receive diplomas and enjoy a sense of celebration. However, families and friends of graduates will be able to watch the graduation ceremony live on the Internet and on television. The format of the event is designed to allow graduates to enjoy being together, taking into account the current situation in the country. All binding safety rules will have to be respected at the time of the event.
Graduates can attend the event by lightweight cars and terrain cars. According to the safety regulations of the current situation, one person or several persons from one household may be in the same car.
In order to give all graduates the opportunity to come to the drive-in graduation, we will soon offer an option for car rentals with a particularly high discount, especially for RTU graduates (we will also include very cost-effective electric car rentals and taxi services).
In accordance with the safety regulations of the current situation, it will be permitted to leave the car during the event only if there is a need to visit toilet, which will be in sufficient number, located at a safe distance and they will be regularly disinfected.
People will be invited to read safety regulations and commit themselves to them before arriving at the site of the event.
Taking into account the number of graduates, this event will be the most ambitious drive-in event in Latvia. A number of video screens will be provided for better visibility at the site, but the musical performances will be enjoyed on a special radio frequency.
