Structure and administration

The Law on Institutions of Higher Education of the Republic of Latvia stipulates that higher education institutions (HEIs) are autonomous educational and research institutions with the right for self-government. This autonomy is characterized by allocation of rights and duties between state institutions and HEI administration, as well as between administration and academic personnel.
