Open Invitation to a Discussion of the «Future of Universities»

On January 11 at 16:00 in the Riga Technical University Science and Innovation Center «The Moon» room, (Ķipsalas Street 6A, 2nd floor), RTU Rector Tālis Juhna, former European Space Agency personnel and astronaut selection manager, entrepreneur and researcher Frank Danesy, and LMT Vice President Ingmārs Pūkis will expand on ideas about the future of universities and higher education in an era of rapidly changing technology, employment, student interests, and related motivations.

How do I become an astronaut? An individual who has answer that question many times with confidence throughout his life is Frank Danesy, a business professional with experience in aviation, strategic management, human resource management, and strategic intelligence. Having worked for several decades at the European Space Agency with a primary focus on personnel, astronaut selection, and development issues, he now transfers this keen knowledge and expertise to both students and other professionals in the field. 

Danesy has established a network of experienced consultants and experts in strategy development, human resource management, change management and, conflict resolution. He is also concurrently an admired lecturer and researcher at the University of Mannheim in Germany.

The robust discussion will be moderated by Pauls Irbins, who is the founder of the education technology company «Orbit8», president of the Latvian Space Industry Association, and a mentor of RTU students. All interested parties are invited to participate in the discussion, gain insight, and ask questions of the participants. 

The discussion will be held in English.
