In the last week of June, a delegation from Beijing International Studies University (BISU) led by Professor Qiu Ming, Vice-President of the BISU, visited RTU. On June 22 2016, Professor Leonids Ribickis, RTU Rector, and Professor Qiu Ming signed an Agreement on implementation of the Latvian language study programme where Chinese students will spend longer periods of time at RTU.
Foreign Students Department of Riga Technical University has been very supportive to develop the programme by sending one of RTU Professors to teach the Latvian language in Beijijng and by supplying books for teaching.
In 2017 Chinese students will come to RTU for one year long intensive Latvian studies. After returning to Beijng students will be able to complete their studies and then to proceed with Bachelor and Master programme in Technical Translation at Riga Technical University.
