On September 30 of this year, one of the loudest and most ambitious active lifestyle events - Night Swimming - will take place traditionally during the European Sports weekend.

Residents of Riga, Valmiera, Ventspils and Sigulda and their guests will have the opportunity not only to enjoy a pleasant swim accompanied by positive live music and lighting, but also to challenge themselves in a half-hour swim.

This year, in the half-hour swim, participants will have the opportunity to swim as far as possible in a freely chosen swimming style, manner and pace. On the other hand, in order to ensure the participation of everyone interested in this challenge, four groups have been created, in which, according to their abilities and skills, the participant can apply:

Enthusiasts and families (children and young people, as well as adults with low or intermediate skills). Swimming time: 19.00-19.30;

Amateur and folk group (children and youth, as well as adults with good skills). Swimming time: 19.45-20.15;

Sports group (children and young people training in sports groups, as well as swimming veterans). Swimming time: 20.30-21.00;

Pro group (children and youth, as well as swimming veterans with very good skills). Swimming time: 21.15-21.45.

Night swimming in the Ķīpsala swimming pool will also be introduced this year by the Latvian regional championship in relays for school-age children and young people - 40 of the strongest relay teams from all over Latvia will compete in the championship in five age groups.

Participation in the event is free.
