Thanks to the financial and organizational support of RTU, this was the first visit of teachers from Latvia to CERN. The visit took place from 3 to 8 April, during which several lectures were organized for the teachers, various centers and facilities for viewing, seminars which provided knowledge of both nuclear physics, IT and other engineering sciences.

"Each year, about 40 groups of physics teachers attend CERN, therefore the lectures and presentations of the CERN staff were prepared specifically for the level of physics teachers, as teachers in secondary schools in Europe teach both electromagnetism, particle physics and cosmological elements," said the member of the Latvian Physical Teachers Association, the RTU Publishing House director Anita Vēciņa, "the lecturers have linked physics topics very well with specific experiments carried out by CERN. The favorit topic was the Lorentz's force that changes the direction of the movement of electrically charged particles in the magnetic field. "She emphasizes that the lectures were repeated on tours, explaining the operation of the equipment, as well as the principles of each experiment's physics.

As a high technology university, RTU in Latvia is interested in promoting the acquisition of modern physics and a deeper understanding of processes in global research centers not only at university but at school level, therefore hoping that teachers will transfer their newly acquired knowledge to their
