RTU Center of High Energy Physics and Accelerator Technologies, being in the capacity of the CERN National Contact Point in Latvia and a member of the CERN Baltic Group, helps talented and motivated students to join the world’s leading nuclear research organisation CERN through various student programmes, research projects and guest lectures.
Starting from September 2021, Riga Technical University, in collaboration with the University of Latvia, will offer a new doctoral level postgraduate study programme in «Particle Physics and Accelerator Technologies».
Following a successful launch of the doctoral postgraduate study programme in «Particle Physics and Accelerator Technologies» in 2021, an initiation of the development of an equivalent master’s study programme by the RTU Centre of High-Energy Physics and Accelerator Technologies is foreseen.
Maintaining cooperation with CERN, that started in 2012, the leading CERN scientists performed well-received and highly appreciated guest lectures at Riga Technical University and this success has been continuing in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019 with series of guest lectures.
