Support for students with disabilities

Students with different needs study and are ready to study at Riga Technical University.
Following the recommendations of the United Nations (UN) Convention and the good practice of world universities, we support the following groups of people in studies:

  • People with reduced mobility;
  • People with visual impairment;
  • People with hearing problems;
  • People with learning disabilities;
  • People with autism spectrum disorders.

Still, the circle of people who would need support is much wider.
By uniting our efforts and whenever possible, we are trying to create an environment where everyone feels respected and is pleased to study.

We have created informative booklet - Guidelines for communication and ensuring an inclusive study environment, to support RTU staff in their daily work. In the material you will find general information about various types of health disorders, as well as specific tips on how to improve daily communication with students. Read the guidelines booklet here.

If you need informative or practical support from RTU in study issues or daily communication, please apply to RTU Student Service (). Together we will understand how we can be of help.
