In October 2016, a new support initiative - RTU IdeaLAB or Idea Laboratory - started working at Riga Technical University (RTU). It brings together talented entrepreneurs, mentors, academics and investors to work together to create business ideas and products. RTU Student Business Incubator has been operating since 2009, with the changing external environment and the rapid development of start-up culture in Latvia. In 2016, a new concept for the development of new ideas was developed. "RTU IdeaLAB or idea laboratory, which provides a safe environment for testing ideas, creating, team building and other forms of support," says Liene Rubina, RTU IdeaLAB manager. To promote and facilitate the implementation of new, perspective, creative, innovative, competitive business ideas in life, supporting RTU students and graduates - future entrepreneurs, thus promoting the development of the national economy.
