From 29 April to 20 June, Riga will host the fourth «Urban Mobility Incubator», which aims to develop and test mobility solutions in Riga. The incubator offers financial support for teams to realise and prototype their business ideas, mentoring sessions and lectures, as well as the opportunity to deploy their solution in urban environments.

Apply for the incubator.

The incubator invites participants to propose ideas that address current urban-identified mobility challenges, including logistics, energy and electric charging, 5G, public transport, etc. Both young teams with a passion to develop a new business idea and established start-ups looking to improve their product or service and accelerate its deployment in urban environments are invited to apply.

The selected teams - this year five - will participate in personalised mentoring sessions and joint working sessions led by industry-recognised experts from «TwoDots Startup Consulting» and Riga Technical University (RTU). The content of the programme will be tailored to the teams' needs, focusing on market research, business strategy, prototype development, marketing and investor attraction. In addition, teams will have the opportunity to develop their products in practical prototyping workshops and receive individual advice in the open-plan workshop «theLAB» of the RTU Science and Innovation Centre. The programme will be run in a hybrid format.

Teams will also receive financial support to develop their idea. The total amount of funding is EUR 12,000, which will be distributed among the five teams. The funding will cover prototyping and piloting costs.

More about the programme and the city challenges.

The incubator is run by the open innovation movement «VEFRESH» together with partners RTU Science Innovation Centre and Riga City Council. The project is co-funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Knowledge and Innovation Community «EIT Urban Mobility».
