Rector visits Technical Universty of Darmstadt

On January 11–14 rector of Riga Technical University paid a working visit to Technical University of Darmstadt/Germany.

During this visit he had several meetings with Institute and department directors of TU Darmstadt and discussed the possible ways of cooperationbetween both universities.

The rector visited also LOEWE–Zentrum AdRIA, Farunhofer Institut and several research laboratories of TU Darmstadt.

In the conclusion of the visit rector participated in the flower-laying ceremony at the grave of the former RPI student, and later employee at TU Darmstadt, Michael Dolivo-Dobrowolsky, and attended a seminar dedicated to the 150th birthday of the famous inventor.

TU Darmstadt is founded in 1877. According to the German business magazine «Wirtschaftswoche» survey it is recognized as one of the best universities in Germany, it is a remarkable research and study centre. The main research directions are mechanical engineering, material science, electrical engineering and electronics, as well as information technology.
