On 18 November, the Proclamation Day of the Republic of Latvia, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis awarded the Cross of Recognition to the Professor of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (FEEM) of Riga Technical University and a corresponding member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences Konstantin Didenko and granted him the title of the Cross Officer. High state award— the Cross of Recognition, Fourth Class— was awarded to the Professor for significant contribution to the development of tertiary education and research in Latvia, promotion of the economic development of Latvia.
K. Didenko is an Acting Head of FEEM Department of Innovations and Entrepreneurship Management. Throughout a long period of his professional activities, Professor has been a paragon to both his colleagues and students. For ten years in the position of the Dean, K. Didenko led the former RTU Faculty of Engineering Economics, for twenty years he was the Deputy Dean for Studies, for fifteen years — Director of the Institute of Production and Entrepreneurship and for twenty-five years he led the Department of Production and Entrepreneurship Economics. Professor has always been very responsible in his professional activities and has been open to innovation. He not only introduced numerous innovations himself but also motivated his colleagues to innovate. K. Didenko published more than 200 research papers and learning aids.
The Cross of Recognition is awarded for outstanding love of the Fatherland and great achievements in the sphere of state, public, culture, science, sport and education activities. Reliable and dedicated service for state or municipal good, exemplary and honest work performance, dedicated public service, strengthening of the national spirit, volunteering and economic development are considered the achievements to be praised.
