The project unites nine partners from two continents with the main aim of empowering healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) countries towards better maternal health solutions.

Experiencing the warm heart of Africa in its full glory was an absolute highlight for all attendees of the first annual partner meeting held from March 4th to March 8th. The spirit, culture, and hospitality of Malawi truly embodied the essence of unity and partnership that eMAMA stands for. Visiting two partner universities, KUHeS and CUNIMA, whose exceptional efforts have not only set the bar high but have also showcased the power of collaboration in driving change.

The project from RTU's side is led by the International Project Unit and this time project manager Elma Eižēnija Pētersone and app developer Lucas Miakinen. To foster the beginning of accomplishment of one of six tasks, a brainstorming session was held. Partners worked in groups, answering questions, and at the end, had a roundtable discussion which is now transformed into an Excel sheet of conclusions. The visual outlook of needs, requirements, actual situations, and trends in the partner countries regarding digital solutions in higher education will serve as a starting point for the first steps of functional and technical setup.

The spirit, culture, and hospitality of Malawi truly embodied the essence of unity and partnership that eMAMA stands for. «If you want to move fast, move alone. If you want to go far, go as a team.» This meeting was a testament to the power of collective effort and shared vision.

Stay tuned and follow eMAMA's social media channels to keep up with all our activities and milestones. Together, we are making strides toward improving maternal mental health, one step at a time.
