The new director of Riga Technical University Latvian Maritime Academy (RTU LJA), associate professor Dmitrijs Goreļikovs, officially began his duties at the helm of RTU LJA when he received the RTU LJA flag and met with the academy’s family during a solemn ceremony held on November 10.
The meeting was opened by RTU administrative director Juris Iļjins, who praised the work done so far in the implementation of the RTU LJA integration activities plan, as well as inviting the new RTU LJA director to constructive dialogue and active cooperation to strengthen the academy's capacity and competences and ensure the competitiveness of maritime education.
Upon receiving the RTU LJA flag, Goreļikovs solemnly promised to ensure the leadership of RTU LJA, strengthen the study and scientific capacity of the academy, as well as cooperation with industry to continue the integration of RTU LJA into the RTU ecosystem.
Jānis Krastiņš, Chairman of the Board of VSIA «Latvijas Jūras administrācija», Alīna Toršina, Director of Personnel Department of the company «LSC», as well as Sanita Žurzdina, representative of the Association of Latvian Crewing Companies, all welcomed the new RTU LJA director.
