Summary:

The main objective of the project is to improve and harmonise elements of the curriculum of the involved partner universities in the maritime field. The following universities are involved in the project: RTU/Latvian Maritime Academy, University of Split and Catalonia Polytechnic University. Target groups of the project are maritime higher education institutions, maritime students and lecturers. The several reports will be prepared within the project (Report 1 (in English) will include the results of the survey on the academic background and competencies of teachers who teach maritime law according to the STCW Convention at maritime universities in the countries of the partner institutions; Report 2 (in English) will include data on the focus groups divided into two parts - the first part includes the analysis of teaching approaches and teaching materials, and the second part includes results related to the analysis and improvement of the learning outcomes of the maritime law courses), guidelines for future harmonisation in maritime law courses according to STCW at maritime HEIs, and teaching materials with examination questions and self-assessment forms.

Activities:
1) analysis of academic experience and competences of lecturers 2) analysis of existing learning approaches and teaching materials (according to relevant course descriptions). 3) implementation of activities to promote teachers' digital and professional teaching skills 4) development of guidelines with the aim of promoting the harmonization of descriptions of maritime law courses in accordance with the STCW Convention 5) development of new digital learning material
