The Anniversary of the renovation of Riga Polytechnic Institute (RPI) was celebrated more modestly than the previous round anniversaries.
The solemn meeting took place on 7 December 1968 at the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Latvian SSR. During this festival, the university gained spacious premises – laboratory building – At 1a Ļenina (at presetn – Kaļķu) Street (the building was demolished at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, instead it Riga City Hall is located).
