RTU Olympians

The Gallery of Olympians features graduates, students, and academic staff of our university who participated in the Olympic Games since 1912, as well as those engineering students – Olympians, who studied at the successive predecessors of RTU – Riga Polytechnicum (1862–1896) and Riga Polytechnic Institute (1896–1919; 1958–1990; since 1990 – Riga Technical University) – at the departments (faculties) that have changed both their names and university affiliations under various political regimes and authorities, namely at the Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Mechanics, Department of National Economy of the Faculty of National Economics and Law, and Faculty of Agriculture (1919–1958) of the University of Latvia. 

Research on engineering students, graduates, and academic staff who participated in the Olympic Games from 1912 to 2022, their association with various sports organizations, as well as on sports at RPI / RTU, is summarized in the scientific monograph «Olympians of Riga Technical University in 110 years. 1912–2022» by RTU Research Centre for Engineering History.
