Riga Technical University (RTU) Science and Innovation Centre invites innovators, scientists and Master and PhD students to submit business ideas to one of the most popular European pre-acceleration programmes «EIT Jumpstarter 2024» until 26 April to compete for 10 000 EUR to further develop the idea.
Business Ideas are an opportunity for innovators to submit early-stage product and service ideas in the fields of health, food and agriculture, raw materials, energy, urban mobility and manufacturing, as well as solutions covering the «New Bauhaus for Europe» initiative. The New Bauhaus for Europe is a strategic initiative for the environment, economy and culture, connecting design, sustainability, accessibility and investment to achieve the objectives of the European Green Deal.
The programme will last eight months. Participants will receive training from experienced industry experts and support from top mentors in their field, who will help the ideas to find and build the most suitable and viable business model. At the end of the programme, participants will have the opportunity to present their idea to investors and potential future partners, thus also providing extensive networking opportunities, opening doors to European markets, innovation hubs, and networking with large industrial partners in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) community.
The pre-acceleration programme will start in May and the final will take place in November, when teams will present their ideas and compete for a cash prize of up to €10,000 for each category.
Since its launch in 2017, the «EIT Jumpstarter» programme has trained more than 970 start-up teams. In 2019, the pre-accelerator programme was awarded The Best European Association Training Initiative.
RTU Science and Innovation Centre currently provides representation and implementation of the «EIT RawMaterials» and «EIT Urban Mobility» communities in Latvia.
