RTU Research Center for Engineering History conducts interdisciplinary research, preserves, promotes, exhibits and collects tangible and intangible cultural heritage of RTU. Throughout its history, the center has been a role model for innovations in the interdisciplinary research.
RTU Research Center for Engineering History (RCEH) started to work on February 1, 2017, although different research projects and preservation of historical evidence began much earlier – already in 1896 Riga Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Charter envisaged the position of the museum's keeper.
In 1967, the RPI Museum of History began its operation. Nowadays, we can state that 50 years after the foundation of the museum, RTU engineering history research has entered a new stage – a modern historical exhibition hall is being developed, and the first collection of EHRC scientific articles «History of Engineering and Universities» has been prepared for publication.
