Basketball sessions offer students to master and improve their skills in various shots, passes and dribbles. Students are introduced to basketball techniques, tactics and the most important rules of the game. Attention is devoted to the development of physical fitness and the acquisition of diverse basketball exercises. Basketball is one of the most popular sports games in Latvia and also RTU. Famous basketball players, e.g., Valdis Valters, Andris Jēkabsons, Oļģerts Jurgensons, former Prime Minister Vilis Krištopans, etc. have studied and played at our university.
