Demonstrating the openness to co-operation, Rector of Riga Technical University (RTU), Academician Leonīds Ribickis has signed a contract with Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute» Mykhailo Zgurovsky.
The general cooperation agreement between the universities was signed at the Cabinet of Ministers during the official visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to Latvia.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman welcomed the signing of the general cooperation agreement between higher education institutions.
The contract is a continuation of the visit of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych to RTU on 14 December 2017, during which the cooperation opportunities and the issues related to the development of science and technology were discussed, as well as the campus visited.
The Cabinet of Ministers informs that last year the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of education, science, youth and sports was signed, but during this visit two cooperation documents were signed – the General Agreement on Academic Cooperation between RTU and the National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute» and the Letter of Intent on Cooperation to Support Riga Ukrainian Secondary School between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
