RTU is ranked first in international rating «U-Multirank» among universities in Latvia

Riga Technical University (RTU) has been highly ranked in the international rating «U-Multirank», receiving the highest evaluation – A «very good» – in six indicators, including the graduates working in the region and the number of spin-offs.

«U-Multirank» rating consists of five dimensions of university activity – teaching and learning; research knowledge transfer; international orientation; regional engagement, and in each of these dimensions, universities are evaluated on a number of indicators. RTU has received the highest evaluation – A «very good» – for graduate students employed, foreign language bachelor programs, number of spin-offs, post-doc positions and art related output. RTU has received the second highest evaluation – B «good» – in eight indicators, thus in the total A and B scores showing the best rank among 15 higher education institutions of Latvia that are included in the rating.

«The competitiveness of RTU and the quality of education are evidenced by the fact that for at least two consecutive years we have had the best results in «U-Multirank» rating among higher education institutions in Latvia. These achievements are based on active and purposeful work on improving the quality of studies and encouraging cooperation with entrepreneurs. The results of «U-Multirank» reaffirm the high appreciation of RTU graduates among employers,» emphasizes Juris Iljins, Director of RTU Quality Management and Record Management Department.

«U-Multirank» rating compares results of higher education institutions and colleges, and this year it included information about more than 1614 higher education institutions from 95 countries. Rating is a user-friendly tool that provides any current student or future student to compare higher education institutions in an interactive way according to specific indicators. «U-Multirank» is a multidimensional approach with more than 30 indicators, according to which higher education institutions are evaluated using a letter grading scale from A to E.
