How to design a unique bridge in Baltics? The case of Daugava Dual Bridge

20th of September, 2021

Within the open lecture, we will dive into the development topic of a conceptual design solution for the combined road-rail bridge over the Daugava river, as part of the Rail Baltica high-speed line.
Given the scale of the river crossing, it became clear that the Daugava combined bridge will be a unique structure in the Baltics, combining both railway and road infrastructure into one single object. While the main objective was to identify the most economic and technically feasible solution, the breakdown of these main requirements goes along with more detailed requirements, considering also environmental, social and even political factors.
Within lecture, we will take a look into steps that helped us to lead to the solution by prioritizing, structuring, and managing all requirements and expectations, combined with regular design workshops. As well, during the lecture will be discussed career and professional development opportunities within our team in Baltics!

The lecture will be lead by the Director of Latvian Branch Office of DB Engineering &Consulting – Eric Kammel, and HR Expert and International recruiter of DB Engineering &Consulting - Anastasija Kovalova.
The lecture will be held in English.

Time of the lecture - November 2, at 17.00 PM
