At the beginning of 2018, a scientific monograph in English was published by Associate Professor and Leader Researcher of RTU Research Centre for Engineering History Alīda Zigmunde and historian of sciences Günther Sollinger in English «From Airplanes to Rockets – Friedrich Zander and Early Aviation in Riga» .
The monograph is dedicated to the 130th Anniversary of Friedrich Zander, one of the pioneers of rocket construction, a graduate of the Department of Mechanics of Riga Polytechnic Institute (1914; with distinction) born in Latvia. In it, the authors have summarized their research on F. Zander and his contemporaries, on the beginnings of aviation in Riga, the connection with the predecessor of RTU –Riga Polytechnic Institute in the beginning of 20th century.
