In anticipation of the 145th Anniversary of RTU, in the autumn of 2007 the team of authors prepared Volume 3 of the book «History of Higher Technical Education in Latvia», which covers the period from RPI renewal in 1958 to March 1990, when RPI was reorganized to Riga Technical University (RTU).
During the period described in this book, the training took place in accordance with USSR standards and traditions. University technical education in almost all major fields of engineering, as well as architecture and engineering economics, could be obtained at the largest technical university in Latvia – RPI.
