Celebrating the 140th Anniversary of RTU, the university has published a book «History of Higher Technical Education in Latvia». Thus, for the first time in Latvian, the history of Latvian university technical education is discussed. Given the large amount of work, the editorial board divided it into three volumes.
Volume l. Riga Polytechnicum. Riga Polytechnic Institute. 1862–1919. The authors of the book are researchers of the history of technical sciences: J. Stradiņš, H. Guļevskis, I. Grosvalds, J. Klētnieks, J. Briedis, A. Zigmunde, I. Knēts. On behalf of the authors of the book, Helmuts Guļevskis, Chairman of the Section of the History of Technical Sciences of RTU 43rd International Conference, thanked Rector Ivars Knēts, whose moral and material support and introduction the book was published and all RPI/RTU history researchers whose names are not listed, but without whose input this extensive work would not have been possible.
