On 10 November the new director of Riga Technical University Latvian Maritime Academy (RTU LMA) Associate Professor Dmitrijs Goreļikovs received the Latvian Maritime Academy flag at a solemn ceremony, officially assuming his new duties, and met the LMA community.
The meeting was opened by the RTU Administrative Director Juris Iljins, who praised the achievements of RTU LMA in the implementation of the integration plan, and invited the new RTU LMA director to engage in constructive dialogue and active cooperation to strengthen the capacity and competences of the academy, as well as to ensure the competitiveness of maritime education.
Upon receiving the Latvian Maritime Academy flag, Dmitrijs Gorelikovs solemnly promised to lead RTU LMA, strengthening the academy's study and scientific capacity, as well as cooperation with industry, continuing the integration of RTU LMA into the RTU ecosystem.
The RTU LMA director was welcomed by Jānis Krastiņš, Chairman of the Board of Latvian Maritime Administration, Alīna Toršina, Head of Fleet Personnel Department at LSC, as well as Sanita Žurzdina, representative of the Latvian Crewing Companies Association.
