Since 2015, the Erasmus exchange programme has expanded beyond Europe’s borders, allowing within the new Erasmus+ programme mobility not only in Europe, but also elsewhere in the world. Right from the start of the programme, RTU is a leader in terms of the acquired funding and the number of implemented mobility throughout Europe, and now mobility in learning, teaching and sharing of experience is being implemented with universities from all over the world. Erasmus+ gives the opportunity to students to gain international experience and expertise by studying at one of the higher education institutions outside Europe, with which RTU has signed a bilateral cooperation agreement. At RTU, Erasmus+ study and traineeship mobility is implemented in accordance with the «Procedure for Organizing Student Mobility for Erasmus+ Program at Riga Technical University.»
