The Institute of Aeronautics (AERTI) of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Transport and Aeronautics, and International Relations Department of Riga Technical University (RTU) is inviting You to experience an MARITIME TRANSPORT summer school.
AERTI is a respectable successor of one of the oldest institutions of higher education in aviation (Riga Civil Aviation University), having its own history of 98 years and already for 20 years AERTI realizing study programm in Transport System Engineering that includes all kinds of Transport Systems – Automotive, Rail, Aviation, Maritime and Pipeline transport. Your journey within this summer school will lead You through modern trends in Maritime Transport through the field visits at Intermodal and Multimodal cargo terminal at various ports of Latvia. Latvia is a maritime transit country having three great FreePorts – Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja.
If You have finished at least one year of studies by the time the summer school starts, speak fluent English, appreciate the experience of qualified professionals and are a creative person, You are more than welcome to join this event from August 14 to 25, 2017 in Riga.
You will attend lectures of RTU professors and Maritime industry representatives in the fields of:
You will be able to visit Container and Coal terminals at Riga Freeport Authority and Ventspils Freeport Authority.
The summer school will take place in the Ports of Latvia – Riga and Ventspils. During the summer school excursions, sightseeing of Riga and other interesting places outside the cities will be organized.
The deadline for submitting the application is July 31, 2017 (for EU citizens) and July 3 (for non-EU citizens)
