High Energy Physics

High energy particle physics competence in Latvia is scattered. Centre’s task is boost up the development of this competence in close cooperation with CERN.

It is done through participation in several research projects and new study program:

Scientific activities

The Center's goal is to develop interdisciplinary fundamental research in the field of high-energy particle physics and accelerator technology, involving scientific and academic staff as well as students in research projects in the field of nuclear research.

Study programmes

RTU decided to create a study program for the acquisition of high-energy particle physics. The program will be designed to acquire particle physics in parallel with accelerator technology.

Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment

On December 2017 Consortium of two universities - RTU and UL joined the CMS experiment.
