RTU doctoral students at the world's physics top research centre

"Everything is happening there, huge powers, energy converters," doctoral student of the RTU Faculty of Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering (RTU EEF) Kristaps Vitols is expressing his excitement about the visit of the RTU and the University of Latvia (UL) students to the European Center for Nuclear Research, CERN, in the publication of the newspaper "Latvijas Avize".

"I could see how the knowledge that I get from doctoral studies is used in major research. Two thirds of the employees of CERN are not physicists but engineers, IT technicians, civil engineers or material science specialists, "said Kristaps. Kristaps also talked about possibility of specific cooperation projects with CERN representatives : Latvian scientists could participate in research related to the development of new materials. It is also possible to co-operate in other areas, right
