Academic Staff

Academic Staff

Over one hundred people pursue teaching and research within the faculty. Our academic staff members are constant and highly competent: they participate in various conferences and seminars both in Latvia and abroad; most of them continue their education at Doctoral study programmes, leveraging the interdisciplinary strengths of the faculty. All FETH staff members are employed on a competitive basis, regulated by RTU Regulations «On the Procedure of Electing Assistant Professors, Lecturers and Assistants».

The academic staff maintains a high level of collaboration with different governmental and private organizations both in Latvia and abroad. Within the framework of professional Bachelor and Master study programmes guest lecturers are invited to deliver separate lectures and practical classes. The Institute of Applied Linguistics has long been cooperating with different foreign higher education establishments: University of Mainz (Germany), Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Adelaide (Australia) etc.

The recruitment and renewal of the teaching staff is done regularly to ensure high quality of education. Studies at post-graduate programmes as well as continuous research work are of great significance in this process. We believe that our academic staff effectively applies the experience obtained in the course of professional development and research work in the study process.
