Short Bio:

Ilze Miķelsone is a practicing architect since 2000, working on projects for private, industrial and public buildings.

Ilze's academic interests are related to architecture practice based on specific values. Ilze has studied value systems in architecture and the ways they are supported by institutional systems. Since 2012 writes publications and has participated in reports at local and international conferences on value orientation analysis in architectural practice processes. Conducted practical research on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) (2017) and was the editor of the brochure «Latvian Architectural Policy 2020» (2019).

In 2019 Ilze obtained a doctoral degree with a doctoral thesis «Value System in Architectural Practice». Currently, Ilze continues to participate in conferences, conducts and reviews future bachelor's and master's theses, gives lectures, documents the context of the building culture (Baukultur) in the daily processes of creating architecture, creates content and interviews interesting personalities in the field.
