Rental fees and payment procedure

Payment:

• Rent: from 60 LVL per month (check residences and types of rooms offered)
• Deposit 160 LVL* (refundable if there are no fines and other fees applicable)
• Payment for badge 5 LVL (non-refundable)

• Upon arrival in Riga, you will receive your key and a contract. The rent of first months and the deposit for room has to be transferred to university’s account before your arrival.
  Send the copy of payment proof to:  zane rtuasd.lv. Please note that your accommodation will NOT be secured for you unless the payment has been made in advance.
• On the second month and thereafter the rent should be paid monthly by the 10th day of each month.
• Deposits will be reimbursed if all contractual obligations have been fulfilled and the room is left in conformity with the inventory of fixtures drawn up when the Tenant took possession of the room. The reimbursement of deposit for room will be made after termination of the Tenancy Agreement and will be transferred to your account within one month after your departure.
• Minimum rental period is 2 months.
• If you fail to arrive on the announced day, your reservation will be cancelled and a new place will be provided within 5 days after the new request has been received.
• The full months’ rent will be charged despite of your arrival date.

Accommodation details

Riga Technical University offers accommodation on condition that you have already registered or will be registered as a student at RTU at the beginning of the Accommodation Period and remain registered student throughout the Accommodation Period.
There are single and double rooms available for rent.  All Tenants have access to a kitchen (crockery and cutlery = pots & pans are  provided).

Social behaviour

Students should keep their room clean and tidy. The furniture may not be moved or removed in the rooms and communal halls. Decoration of room is permitted as long as no damage is caused to walls or doors. It is forbidden to keep or to bring animals in the room or in any other place of the building. Tenants are not allowed to keep bicycle in the building.

It is forbidden to use beverages or any other intoxicating substances or smoke in a residence. Between 11pm and 6am absolute silence should be observed in the entire building.

The residences are closed from 0.30am to 6:00am for the safety reasons.

Visiting rights

Students may receive visitors. Visitors, who have arrived at the residence, are met by the Tenant personally. Tenant’s visitors are allowed to stay in the residence from 9am until 11pm. The Tenant is responsible for any damage caused by his/her visitor.

Sanctions

When violating the stipulations of the internal rules and regulations, theft, property damage, alcohol- and drug abuse, Tenant can be sanctioned by the Rector of Riga Technical University. The sanctions may be as follows  - a warning, cancellation of the tenancy agreement or temporary / permanent expulsion.

If you wish to change or cancel your reservation, please contact the Dormitory Department or Foreign Students Department. You will also be given an additional information on the residences and rooms.
