Competition for the Award of the RTU Scientist of the Year 

The annual competition for the award was introduced in 2006 with the aim to enhance scientific research in RTU, to involve young scientists in research activities and to evaluate the results of the scientific research work of RTU scientists.

All RTU scientists and teaching staff members who have obtained the PhD scientific degree are elegible for the competition.

The RTU scientists and teaching staff members with the PhD scientific degree not older than 35 are eligible for the Award of The RTU Young Scientist of the Year.

The activities of the scientists who are put forward for the title are evaluated for the period between 1 January – 1 September according to the following criteria:

• Scientific publications;
• Participation in conferences;
• Number of MSc works defended under the guidance of the competitor;
• Number of tutored PhD students;
• Number of promotion works defended;
• The scientific projects managed;
• Amount of attracted funding;
• Participation in scientific activities and institutions;
• Other achievements and awards.
